On April 21, 2018 we installed wooden Corrals on sites 114 & 116!!
These two sites each have 2 picket posts for your added convenience.
Site 116
We left the posts at the rear of the stalls tall so you can hang your hay bag easier.
Please note the hitching post provided, and never tie your horse to any of the corrals themselves. A pulling horse could collapse the pipe panel stalls.
On April 1, 2017 the Ionia Horse Trail Association together with the Ionia State Recreation Area installed corrals on seven campsites, making Ionia the first State Park in Lower Michigan to provide corrals for your horses. This information is included in the description on the D.N.R. Reservations Website.
Sites 144 and 146 are pictured left, and 143, 145, and 147 pictured right.
